GSWP FINAL Teams Announcement for the 2022 SWPSA Inter Provincial Tournament in Durban

Dear Gauteng Schools Water Polo Parents, Players, Coaches, Officials and Community

Please kindly find attached for your attention the FINAL 2022 GSWP Teams Announcement for the SWPSA Inter Provincial Tournament (“IPT”) taking place in Durban from 10 to 14 December 2022.

We would like to congratulate all those selected in this regard and look forward to a good showing at this year’s IPT in our Gauteng Colours.

NB* Please kindly note the following additional important information in this regard:

  1. The Teams as attached are FINAL but are subject to change for inter alia any of the following reasons (where applicable):
    1. Player commitment/attendance during the remaining months leading up to the IPT
    2. Player discipline issues
    3. Player injuries
    4. Player form
    5. Financial standing with GSWP
  1. Squad Reserves are expected to attend all remaining sessions leading up to the IPT as they remain integral to their Age Groups, and may need to replace a selected player(s) and participate at the IPT. Squad Reserves remain eligible to receive their Gauteng Schools Provincial Colours subject to their commitment/attendance during the remaining months leading up to the IPT.
  1. The GSWP Executive is still working hard at finalising and trying to minimise the 2022 Player IPT Tour Cost as far as possible – as I am sure you can imagine taking down 300 Players plus Coaches, Managers, Referees, etc. to Durban to participate is no easy task!

It is anticipated that once all IPT Tour expense confirmations have been finalised the 2022 Player IPT Tour Cost  (excluding apparel and personal spending (pocket) money), will not be greater than R9,750 (Nine Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Rand) per player. Please therefore Budget accordingly! It is expected that by latest Monday, 7 November 2022 the actual Final IPT cost will have been finalised and communicated to those players who have been selected to represent GSWP at the IPT.

  1. Squad Reserves who have paid their IPT Deposit (i.e. R6,000) are requested to please email their FULL Banking Details to Richard Irvine at richard.irvine@standardbank.co.za as soon as possible in order to be refunded their deposit paid.
  1. The GSWP Provincial Colours Capping Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 7 December 2022 (details to follow). Kindly diarise the date.

NB* Players who have not fully paid all amounts due to GSWP at that point in time will unfortunately not be eligible to receive their Gauteng Schools Provincial Colours nor participate at the IPT.
